Nathan Filer
Nathan Filer won the Costa Book Prize in 2013 with his debut novel, The Shock Of The Fall. It has been translated into 27 languages. Nathan worked part time as a mental health nurse in Bristol and his book’s narrator is a 19 year old boy with schizophrenia. He graduated from Bath Spa University in 2010 with an MA in Creative Writing and is now a lecturer in Creative Writing at the University.
Simon Van Booy
Simon Van Booy is the author of The Secret Lives of People in Love, Love Begins in Winter, Everything Beautiful Began After, and The Illusion of Separateness. He teaches part-time at SVA in Manhattan, and is involved in the Rutgers Early College Humanities Program for young adults living in under-served communities. In 2013, he founded Writers for Children, an organization which helps young people build confidence in their talent. He was a finalist for the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise and his work has been translated into more than fifteen languages. Simon lives in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter.
Brad Herzog
Award winning freelance writer Brad Herzog shares some of his favorite stories and best kept secrets for pursuing and catching great ideas. Brad Herzog has a four-headed writing career. The Pacific Grove resident is the author of more than 30 books for children, including a new five-book nonfiction series about character in sports. He has also written a trilogy of travel memoirs, which that the American Book Review has deemed "the new classics of American travel writing." His latest book is the co-authored memoirs of civil rights icon Carolyn Goodman.
